What is the application fee?
The fee is Rs. 1,500 for General / Unreserved candidates and Rs. 750 for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates, plus bank charges. It is paid online only and is not refundable.
What is the age limit?
The age must be 18 to 30 years as on 01/10/2026. Usual relaxation applies to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwBD and Ex-Servicemen, and up to 5 years to dependants of freedom fighters. There is no upper age limit for departmental candidates of the Supreme Court Registry.

What is the selection process and exam pattern?
There are four stages: a 100-mark objective test of 1.5 hours with no negative marking (minimum 50 marks), a shorthand test of 100 marks (minimum 50), a computer typing test of 20 marks (minimum 10) and an interview of 30 marks (minimum 15).
When will the exam be held?
The objective test is tentatively on 07/12/2026. The answer key is uploaded on 08/12/2026 and objections are open from 08/12/2026 to 09/12/2026 (till 11:55 PM). The dates of the shorthand test, typing test and interview will be notified on www.sci.gov.in.
How do I apply?
Apply online through the link given on www.sci.gov.in, upload your photograph, signature and certificates, pay the fee online and keep the printout and application number for the admit card. Postal applications are not accepted.
